A motorcyclist who was involved in an accident on Bridge Street, Castries yesterday, Friday, April 26, 2013 is now nursing a badly broken arm.

“I am good. I got a broken arm and the bone shattered,” Sage Charlemagne of Corinth, Gros Islet told St. Lucia News Online.

Charlemagne explained what happened Friday afternoon in front the ECFH/Bank of Saint Lucia (BOSL) building.

“I was riding between traffic by BOSL;just before I came to my stop – because the (traffic) light was red — from the parked vehicles by the bank, a guy just widely opened his door and hit my (bike’s) handle bar. It threw me off balance and I hit my hand on a tire of one of the vehicles that was in the traffic, and my hand broke,” he said.

Earlier this afternoon, Saturday, April 27, 2013 a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after colliding with a bus on the highway of the Marisule/Corinth junction.

  2. This guy was trying to weave through the traffic. I had just crossed the street to go to BOSL and heard the fall. Its unfortunate that there isn't more regard for motorcyclists but if the rider had remained in lane like everyone else he wouldn't be in this mess as the van was properly parked on the side of the road. It was really painful seeing you on the ground writhing in agony. Either way I hope you get well soon and no permanent damage.
