Cooper, William, Caffiere win Choiseul Women’s Cricket

The Saint Lucia National Lotteries Women’s 50 Overs Cricket Competition in Choiseul pulled down its curtains on Sunday, 5 October at the Piaye Playing Field with the Caffiere Women’s Team registering a massive 156 runs victory over the Tet Morne Women’s Team in the Final.

The Caffiere ladies batting first made 175 all out in 38.3 overs. Batting for Caffiere, Roylin Cooper top scored with 74 runs, and Swayline William scored 24 runs. Bowling for the Tet Morne Ladies were Dawn Stephen who grabbed 4 for 23 runs and Merrisa Felix 1 for 39 runs.

In reply, the Tet Morne Ladies found it impossible to cope with the disciplined bowling from the Caffiere Ladies and were restricted to 19 all out in 11.3 overs.

For the Caffiere Ladies, Swayline William was the most successful bowler taking 3 wickets for 6 runs in 5overs along with Shernia Cooper who also bagged 3 wickets for 11 runs in 5overs. The other wicket taker was Nicole St Prix taking 2 wickets in her 1.3 overs.

At the end of the Final there was a small prize giving ceremony.

1.     Player of the match – Roylin Cooper (scored 74 runs in the Final)

2.     Most wickets in the tournament – Swayline William (15 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 2.08 runs per wicket)

3.     Most runs in the tournament – Roylin Cooper (202 runs in 4 matches)
