Combined Schools, Micoud Hustlerz to face each other in Division 1 of KFC finals

PRESS RELEASE – On Saturday Micoud defeated Lions 71 – 68 and win the series 2-0 to move on to the finals of Division 1 for the first time ever.

The KFC Player of the Game for Micoud was Chris Francois with 20 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.

Canaan St. Catherine also contributed 21 points and six rebounds for Micoud. Neil Verdant for Lions had 21 points and six rebounds in their loss. VBCC Warlords also defeated Morne Gladiators 68 – 65 and secure their third finals in four years with a 68 – 65 win.

Elijah Williams was the KFC Player of the Game with 19 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. Shamoir Jn. Baptiste had 20 points and five rebounds for Morne in their loss.

On Sunday, there were two more close out games starting first with defending Division 1 champions Combined Schools getting past Combined Forces 61 – 58 and booking a spot in the second successive finals to face Micoud Hustlerz.

Jason Montoute for his double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds was the KFC Player of the Game. He was aided by Kyanni Elwin with 13 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Amil Octave had a game high of 26 points and six rebounds for Combined Forces in their loss.

In game two of the evening, defending Premier League champions Courts Jets also booked a finals showdown with VBCC Warlords winning easily over Babonneau Dynasty 62 – 45. KFC Player of the Game was Glen Antoine for Courts Jets with 13 points and seven rebounds. Kraigg Brooks had 12 points and five rebounds for the Dynasty.

Congratulations to all teams making into the finals of the KFC National Basketball League. The finals are now set in both divisions and are as follows:

Division 1: Micoud Hustlerz vs. Combined Schools
Premier League: VBCC Warlords vs. Courts Jets

The date for the finals will be provided in a subsequent release.
