PRESS RELEASE – In commemoration of Saint Lucia’s 36th Anniversary of Independence, Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa will be collaborating for the second year with the Vieux Fort South Constituency Council in staging a grand Independence treat for 120 senior citizens from the south of the island.

The senior citizens drawn from the wider community will be treated to an elaborate meal which will be served by members of the Coconut Bay culinary team.

General Manager of Coconut Bay, Kevin Hughes noted that Coconut Bay is very supportive of such initiatives. “We are elated at the opportunity to assist in efforts to commemorate Saint Lucia’s Independence Anniversary, we understand and value the contributions of those senior citizens who went before us, we feel obligated to pay tribute to and bring enjoyment to them”.

The grand Independence treat for the Elderly of Vieux Fort South is consistent with the hotel’s sponsorship policy, which identifies children and the elderly as two focal groups in addition to the education and health sectors. Coconut Bay also seeks to focus its sponsorship support to the southern communities, i.e. Choiseul to Dennery village.

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa takes this opportunity to extend compliments to the Government and people of Saint Lucia on the occasion of the nation’s 36th Anniversary of Independence.
