Coconut Bay Hard Nuts are SLHTA football champions again

(PRESS RELEASE) – Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa Football Team – “C Bay Hard Nuts” completed a second consecutive year of dominance when they demolished St James Morgan Bay to win the 2017 SLHTA Football Champions Cup in the finals held at the Soufriere Mini Stadium on Saturday 11th, November, 2017.

The powerhouse Hard Nuts team enforced their unbeaten run when they routed St James Club Morgan Bay 5 goals to 1 to win the Championship in convincing style.

Quite apart from establishing dominance through back to back wins over the past two years, the Coconut Bay team has cemented their prowess in the competition by being victorious three (3) out of the five years the competition has been held. The Coconut Bay team stamped their authority on the finals by scoring early goals in the first twenty minutes of the game.

Goal scorers for Coconut Bay Hard Nuts were Michael Descartes with 1 goal while Dealand Neptune and Adrian Henry scored 2 goals each. Coconut Bay CEO Mark Adams who expressed elation over the victory commented: “We are proud over the victory of the football team for a second year running. The fact that they were also able to maintain an unbeaten run is statement of their quality and performance as a unit. This is in fact a reflection of who we are. The team’s success will be celebrated in a big way in the coming weeks”.

The Coconut Bay Football team is thankful to the SLHTA for the successful staging of another competition. The competition has helped to inculcate a spirit of comradery among workers from the respective hotels which have participated in the competition. Coconut Bay Hard Nuts look forward to participating in a defending their championship title in next year’s competition.
