The body of a young man was discovered early Sunday morning, Oct. 4 in George 5th Park, Castries with stab wounds, police sources have confirmed.

The deceased has been identified as Julian Phillip, popularly known as “Cocoboy”.

He was reportedly discovered with multiple wounds. He is suspected to have been killed on Saturday.

A Facebook post alleges that three of Phillip’s fingers were missing, a report that has not yet been confirmed by the police.

However, St. Lucia News Online has learned that police are investigating reports that Phillip’s death may have been linked to theft.

  1. Sadly that is the path you chose, and I am sorry that you didn't get to give your life to God soon enough, whatever God desires so will it be...Wish I could say rest in peace, for God alone knows, but as you always respected me let God alone judge.........May your family now find rest and comfort in the Lord Jesus Christ................

  2. Death is something we should never rejoice in no matter who . if you think this is a joke then you just as wicked as he was .I don't understand what the world has come to .. if he stold from you and u still angry after he has died then u really have a problem .nobody say u have to cry but if u didn't have something nice to say then you should just be quiet ...

  7. WELL THERE IS A SAYING THAT GOES BY"WE SOMETIMES DIE BY THE WAY WE LIVE OUR LIVES".SO IF HE SPENT HIS YOUNG LIFE MUGGING PEOPLE THEN EVENTUALLY IT WOULD HAVE CATCH UP WITH HIM.IF HE DID NOT GET MERCY WHILE HE WAS ALIVE HE WONT GET AS HE IS DEAD.THEY PUSH AND PUSH AND THINK THEY ARE THE BADDEST IN THE WORLD WHEN THEY GO TO ROB PEOPLE BUT WHAT THESE LITTLE USELESS CROOKS REALIZE IS THAT THERE WOULD BE A TIME WHEN THEY WOULD PUSH THE WRONG INDIVIDUAL AND THEIR HANDS WILL STICK IN THE COOKIE JAR THEY ARE TRYING TO ROB FROM FOREVER.BECAUSE OF HIS DEVIOUS WAYS,HE HAS NOW PUT HIS FAMILY IN AN UNNECESSARY FUNERAL EXPENSE CAUSE HE LOOKED FOR HIS OWN DEATH.IT WAS NOT AN UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT OR ILLNESS.HE PAID FOR HIS STEALING HABIT.I WISH THE OTHERS WOULD TAKE NOTE BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY WONT.WHTA THESE CRIMINALS FAIL TO UNDERSTAND ALSO IS THAT THERE ARE MORE DESPERATE PEOPLE THAN THEM WALKING AMONG THEM IN SOCIETY JUST WAITING FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO STRIKE WHEN THEY ATTEMPT SOMETHING STUPID.CRIMINALS WATCH YOUR'LL BACKS CAUSE THE CITIZENS ARE GETTING FED UP OF YOUR'LL NONSENSE.I REST MY CASE.

  8. Here we are celebrating the demise of another youth, yet not one calls for investigation into what is going on with them. He had family just like anyone of us. Some of us have done the worst to our fellow countrymen yet we castigate those who have never found their way back before their untimely demise. I have said over and over again if people were to die because of bad things that they did in their past then no one would be left standing in St. Lucia. Continue to be judge, jury and executioner and we will see. As we go along executing those who we think deserve death, it will come to pass where our judgments will become subjective. I am not condoning crime but there is an established precedence or procedure for someone who commits crime. Some say that he has been to jail on several occasions; shouldn't our penal system be designed to reform individuals especially those who are so young? It seems as though the system continues to fail youngsters who fall between the cracks. What is a Minister responsible for Youth doing? Is he responsible only for youths who have nice lives and have both mummy and daddy at home? Is he only responsible for those who live at Cap, Bonneterre and Rodney Bay, while rejecting those at Conway, Rose Hill, Faux a Chaux etc? What is the NYC doing or saying about this?

In civilized societies there would be researchers on the ground finding out what the problem was and how would we set up safety nets within our correctional systems to correct such behaviors. Instead, what do we do? We execute them and praise their executioners. We watch people beating alleged thieves on social media and make them heros. Such self righteous fools. While so many thief, for instance from their employers yet they are not beaten. If employers were to start beating employees who stole from them on social media, half of St. Lucia including politicians would be online.

I just feel so ashamed sometimes of belonging to such an unforgiving, insensitive and ignorant society. However, my education uplifts me knowing full well that they are a nation of abused people, who have been ravaged by politicians. What do I expect from people who have been abused? Think about it......

Remember That it was only a thief that entered the kingdom of heaven? Will you enter with your self-righteousness?
