A journey to choir practice for about 12 persons, mainly children, almost turned deadly Saturday afternoon, May 31.

Reports are that two pickup vans collided in Tet Morne, Choiseul at about 5:30 p.m.

One of the pickups was being driven by Pastor Chris Gustave, who was transporting about a dozen young people to the Signs of Wonders Evangelistic Church in Reunion, Choiseul for choir practice. The occupants were transported to St. Jude Hospital for treatment and examination.

The other pickup was being driven by attorney Huggins Neil Nicholas.

Reports are that the collision occurred as the pastor turned onto the main road. The lawyer’s pickup reportedly ran into the back area of the pastor’s vehicle.

The pastor and the lawyer were not injured.

A source close to the pastor’s entourage told St. Lucia News Online that there were no immediate reports of serious injuries however those who complained of pain are being examined.

The source said the accident could have been worst had the lawyer’s pickup  hit the centre of the pastor’s vehicle.

St. Lucia News Online will provide more information later.
