PRESS RELEASE – The CFL management team was out in full force earlier this month to recognise and thank the company’s volleyball team for its second-place win at the recently held Inter-commercial volleyball league.

The 12-member squad, comprising staff from GL Food Market, Mega J and Super J IGA, were all smiles during the recognition ceremony held in their honour.

Addressing the team, CFL Managing Director Martin Dorville praised the volleyballers for their display of not just good sportsmanship during the matches but also values.

He said: “With those games you replicated what we require as an organisation – values. Your love for the sport and each other was evident during the tournament and especially during the final match. We recognise the importance of engaging our team members and letting them know they are appreciated. This is why we are here today, to celebrate your success!”

Commenting on the team’s performance, CFL Training and Development Manager Chairmaine Dick said: “Your team has set an example for us. The reality is that we too can be champions in our departments, stores and offices if we operate as a team. The team’s qualities of trust, accountability and interdependence are what did it for them during these tournaments. The challenge is posed to us today as team members at CFL to develop trust , be accountable in our departments and recognise that everyone is different and bring different skills and talents to the team.”

The volleyballers were treated to a special musical performance by CFL Security Supervisor Petrus Cyrille at the end of the ceremony.

As a reward for their performance, the CFL volleyball team will be treated to “a night on the town” with pizza and cinema tickets.
