PRESS RELEASE – 2008 losing Blackheart Knockout finalist Central Castries and first time semi finalist Vieux Fort South took the last two semi final spots available last evening at the Soufriere Mini Stadium as the Blackheart Knockout Football Tournament for 2014 entered it’s sixth night of competitive football action.
A youthful Central Castries team got the better of Micoud one goal to nil in the first match last evening . A shot on goal by national midfielder Romiel “botty” Felix was touched in by his team mate national defender Emery Edward in the 24th minute of the encounter to book a place in the semi finals their first appearance there since 2008.
In the feature match of the evening last evening Vieux Fort South got the better of the home team Soufriere one goal to nil courtesy of a strike by Antonio Joseph in the 75th minute.
Soufriere have only themselves to blame for being out of the competition this morning as they dominated the encounter and created numerous scoring opportunities which they failed to convert.
So the semi final line up for the 2014 Blackheart Knockout Football Tournament is complete, the semi finals to be played this coming Saturday October 4th at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.
From 6.00 p.m. Vieux Fort North comes up against Central Castries while at 8.00 p.m. Canaries comes up against Vieux Fort.
