(PRESS RELEASE) — The Office of the Mayor and the Castries Constituency Council have joined communities in Saint Lucia and around the globe in celebrating International Women’s Day 2019.

Speaking to the occasion, His Worship Mayor Peterson D. Francis, stated: “The achievements of all and not some women need to be celebrated.”

“Every year International Women’s Day affords an opportunity to mirror the contributions and accomplishments of every woman. It also places the spotlight on addressing real issues that women in our communities and country are confronted with, and for every woman to stand tall with their man, providing encouragement to push his developmental agenda.

“I serve alongside some dedicated females within my office that take the lead in attaining greatness through their work. I am also privileged to serve amongst our female politicians specifically. It is testimony that women continue to make important and progressive inroads in society. My vision is that our strong women should now and forever stand by our men to guide them at all levels to recognize and bring out their full potential,” said Mayor Francis.

Mayor Francis will participate in on-going scheduled activities in Castries to commemorate and celebrate every woman on International Women’s Day 2019.
