Ackim Lionel of Castries today forfeited $250 of his $1,000 bail for repeatedly not appearing in court.

Lionel, who is charged with intentionally wounding Yarnick Albert on May 14, 2012, was a no-show in the court of Magistrate Michelle Louis.

With two previous bench warrants attached to his name for non-appearance, Lionel must pay the fine forthwith or in default spend 14 days behind bars.

With the virtual claimant and investigating officer also absent on this occasion, and a prosecution unable to proceed with it’s case, Magistrate Louis also dismissed the case against Lionel for want of prosecution.
