mango-thief-8LOOP JAMAICA – A man who attempted to steal mangoes from a house came close to losing his life after he fell from the tree and broke several of his limbs in the Church Hill Avenue community off Hagley Park Road in Kingston.

Reports are that, at about 5:00 pm, the man, who is known to frequent the area, jumped a perimeter fence to the house and skillfully made his way up the tree.

Loop News understands that the man fell from the tree after a limb he was standing on broke. The man and the tree limb subsequently crashed to the ground, with the impact of the fall apparently causing the man to break several bones.

However, the injured man had no time to tend to his wounds as vicous dogs attacked him while he was lying on the ground in pain. The man was reportedly heard shouting for help as he desperately tried to fend off the dogs with mangoes in his bag and a small piece of stick in his hand.

He was later rescued by staff members from an ambulance who carried him from the home on a stretcher.

Residents in the area say they are hoping the  incident will send a message to individuals who are known for such illegal activities.
