CARIBBEAN: Caribbean Airlines flight attendant jailed in US for drug smuggling attempt

flight-attendantCARIBBEAN360 – A Caribbean Airlines flight attendant who tried to smuggle more than 6.5 pounds of cocaine into the United States, hidden inside compression underwear he wore under his uniform, has been sentenced to two and a half years in federal prison.

Jamaican Rohan Myers’ jail term will be followed by three years of supervised release.

He admitted to his crime and was sentenced on Wednesday, four months after being arrested at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

According to the Sun Sentinel, the 40-year-old father of two tearfully apologized in court for his actions.

He told Judge William Dimitrouleas he had been promised $10,000 by a man back in Jamaica if he delivered the illegal drugs and it was his first time being a drug mule.
