During the search two firearms were recovered. An unlicensed .32 revolver and second firearm where the make has not been ascertained yet. Also recovered were six live rounds of ammunition.
Herbert Lewis and his common law wife Waltrude O’ Rielly were both arrested and taken into custody.
On Thursday 6th September 2012, they both were charged for the Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.
They were taken before the court of Friday 7th September 2012 to answer to the said charges. They were bailed respectively in the sum of $3,000 for Possession of Ammunition and $5,000 for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm. This could be either cash or suitable surety.
They were also bailed with certain conditions as follow:
1) Report to the Vieux Fort Police Station every Monday.
2) Surrender all travelling documents.
3) Not to leave the state without the court’s permission.
4) Not to apply for any travelling documents without the court’s permission.
