PRESS RELEASE – The Canaries UK Association, this week, contributed to the St. Lucia National Youth Council Scholarship Fund.

The contribution will go towards awarding 5 students from Canaries who were recognized at the Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School graduation for their outstanding academic achievement.

Tevin Shepherd, the 2nd Vice President of St. Lucia National Youth Council, lamented the importance of recognizing students who have excelled academically and encouraged other students to remain focused at school.

Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to Mr. Cornibert, the immediate past Chairman of the Canaries U.K Association and his team for their thoughtful donation and hopes that this alliance ignites long term support, financial and otherwise, to the development of youth in Canaries.

The National Youth Council has partnered with the Ministry of Education, Human Resource and Labor to set up this scholarship fund to provide higher education opportunities for underprivileged high academic achievers throughout the various student council branches.
