BARBADOS TODAY – Kerreon Ishane Kelly, a Jamaican national, was remanded to HMP Dodds again on (June 1), after presiding judge, Justice Jacqueline Cornelius, ordered a presentencing report of her case.
Kelly, 25, of Barkers Road, Haggatt Hall, St Michael, will return to court on July 14. She is charged with the January 8, 2015 offence of causing serious bodily harm to Tishana Alphonso of the same address.
Kelly pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and not guilty to causing serious bodily harm with intent to maim, disfigure or disable Alphonso.
The court heard that the two had known each other for three years and were in an intimate “lesbian” relationship for nine months when the incident occurred.
Reading the facts, the prosecutor disclosed that Kelly was preparing a meal of eggs and bacon for herself and the victim in the early hours of the day when the incident occurred. An argument broke out between the two, with Kelly accusing Alphonso of cheating while in the presence of another female known as Nikita.
It was while arguing, Kelly’s statement to police said, that Alphonso approached her with a knife and she responded by dishing “a pot of hot oil” on Alphonso.
It was also revealed that the accused later took to social media showing a pic saying, “this is my cheating a.. girlfriend and this is what you get for cheating”.
