C-PAF Saint Lucia to host Neo-Kwyeol Vibes Session,  reopens in Saint Lucia

Black Kalagan (1)PRESS RELEASE – The Caribbean Performing Arts Federation (C-PAF) in collaboration with Alliance Francaise, Vide Bouteille Cultural Club (VBCC), LIME and Headphunk is hosting a Neo -Kweyol Vibes Session.

The event will highlight a number of local artists including Vida Dance Group, Silver Shadow Dance Academy, Yannick James, Meshach, Black Crayon, Ras Isley and Cleopatra Jules. It will also feature popular Martinican Performance Poet “Black Kalagan”.

The event takes place on October 30th 2015 at the Vide Bouteille Cultural Club from 7pm. Included in the event is a networking session between Black Kalagan and the Headphunk poets on the 29th of October. This activity is a prime example of C-PAF’s approach, which provides an opportunity for its membership to network and share their creative vision.

The event forms part of C-PAF’s membership drive since recently reopening its doors to Saint Lucia. With its head office located in Dominica and representations in the OECS territories including Martinique C-PAF aims to facilitate the development of an enabling environment for the implementation of a more integrated OECS Creative and Cultural Industry Sector, through education, networking and showcasing. Kentillia Louis Country Director for Saint Lucia, expressed that she is excited and eager to begin working with her new team, who have already begun working assiduously to lay down the groundwork in establishing C-PAF in St Lucia.

The new seven member Saint Lucian Task Force was recently formed and represents a cross section of all genres of the performing arts in St Lucia. They include Kate Popo-(Theatre Arts Performer and Manager); Martha McLennon ( Lighting Designer), Martha Blanchard (Song Writer, Author and Composer, Yannick James (Musician), Delia Louis (Creative Talent Development Agent), Imran Emmanuel ( Ministry Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries Representative) and Kentillia Louis (Performance Arts Specialist).
