  3. We need an economist to be the Minister of Finance, a stand-alone post, not the PM. PMs are politicians, they're not good at math.

  5. Why is budget so late? Did they wake up yesterday and realize that it had to get done? Also, why is it in the middle of the Jazz Festival. Yes, Jazz is more important, but I'm sure it would be a huge buzz killer for lots of folks who are trying to follow both.

    • The Budget is being held in the middle of the Jazz Festival because to cushion and create distraction. Apparently government thinking is Saint Lucians cannot think if and when they are enjoying themselves.

      • I agree. They think that because it's true for the majority. They always paint a false picture for St. Lucians. One day- I hope- the people will wake up.

      • Is jazz being held in the House of Assembly or will the debate be held at one of the jazz venues during the jazz events, like at main stage jazz, fond'or jazz, jazz on the grill or jazz on the bay. The Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the financial year 2014/2015 will be laid in the House of Assembly today April 29...u all don't have money, u all complain about everything, if jazz is your priority go to jazz and forget about budget. don't listen.

        • Jazz is not held in the house, but some ministers might be to charge from the night before at jazz to present a sound debate. A lot of people who like their rum might mistake what they hear the next day.
