A woman washes away blood stains from a sidewalk on Coral Street, Castries following a stabbing incident around 1 p.m.

A 15-year-old girl who is accused of stabbing a 17-year-old male in Castries city this afternoon has been released into the custody of her father since she is a minor, police said.

The girl was arrested after stabbing Valence La Corbiniere, an icicle vendor, in the neck area on Coral Street around 1 p.m.

La Corbiniere was been admitted to Victoria Hospital in serious condition. It is suspected that a broken bottle was used to inflict the injury.

An eyewitness told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) that she was in her “friend’s tray” when the stabbing took place.

“She stabbed him for his own icicles,” the eyewitness alleged. “His name is Valence. He sells icicles for a living. She broke a Guinness bottle and stabbed him with it.”

When asked what may have led to the stabbing, the eyewitness further alleged: “She was accused of stealing his icicles and when he confronted her, she took the bottle from a lady’s tray nearby, broke it and stabbed him. I am still shaken about this. That’s cruel.”

Police sources say the teenager was in danger of being beaten by the public and had to be whisked away by a police officer.

“The crowd was way too hyper. They (police officers) had to get the girl out of there,” the source said. “There was quite a lot of blood.”

  6. So she's a minor to the punishment but not a minor to the act??.....hmmm....Keep playing these cards...Let MINORS get away with their actions and see what will happen in the next couple years. Where did that anger come from to commit such an act??? Minor my a**.......Choops!

  9. Well i have commented many times on the apparent increases in violence by young women in our society. When will St. Lucia wake up and see that out young women need intervention. They fight more often than men now,its a disturbing trend. When a young girl has committed a crime we say that there is a problem with young people generally. On the other hnd when it is commmitted by a young man we say that the men have a problem so as to deflect the female problem. We do the same in politics, when one party does something we blame all politicians, when the other does something we say that the party is at fault. These is two of the most important issues in the country yet we continue to deflect blame and make it contraversial instead of dealing with the problem on hand. Lucians need to be more focussed and do away with this ill-informed rorocious mentality and use factual basis for their decision making process. No wonder report after report states that we are a people who are indifferent to crimes, lies, bobol. Who makes the decisions as to who should be held accountable? Well its the same ones who are involved

  10. I guess since she is a minor they are being a bit lighter on her. By the way I wonder who is her father. I have not known that to ever happen that she would be given in so quick a time to her fathers custody. Girl got links. I suppose a slap on the wrist is in order.

  11. She should be given life in prison. At that age if u can do such things, you shouldn't be out in Public

  12. God our Lord will punish the wicked. Like the previous post said, the Almighty will punish the hole Region , an earthquake followed by a Tusnami. Take heed my people for this will come to pass. For man has lost his ways, the Evil that man do is sad and for that the cleansing will begin very soon. A 3rd world war is on the Brinks to punish mankind for the evil that has been accepted by all. Pray that you are not caught by supprise when the thief strike in the dead of night.

  14. I hope this teenage girl gets the same punishment that would have been handed out had the incident been reversed. This matter should not go unpunished. Here the young man is hustling for his daily bread and not out there selling drugs, stealing or committing any acts of crime. And this is the hand he was dealt? I believe we know all too well how crooked our justice system is, let's see how this plays out for the young man and his attacker.
    Speedy recover to u.
Young lady I hope you get what you deserve

  15. Dear Brethren

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus! I have special reasons to call your attention to something of importance at this time.

A few weeks ago, God revealed to me that He will send an earthquake that will shake St. Lucia because of His dissatisfaction with the state of evil in this country.

I asked for confirmation that He would do so, by asking that He send an earthquake as a portend that He will do so. He answered me as I requested.

God also instructed me to ask the churches in St. Lucia to pray and intercede for the people so that when this happens that there won't be too many loss of lives.

I was not told when it will happen.

I am ashamed to say that I was hesitant at first, but since then I have been hearing that the scientist are predicting exactly what God told me. I have no doubts that what was revealed is true.

    Please publish this warning.
