A woman believed to be between 50 and 60 years old was this morning (May 15) allegedly raped and left between booths 10 and 11 on St. Louis Street, Castries.

Saint Lucia News Online (SNO) understands that the woman’s attackers inserted a stick in her vagina. The rupture caused the rape victim to bleed profusely. Chunks of blood were spotted at the scene.

The woman was taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment.

  1. I keep saying vigilante justice... when people set out to do this atrocities they should be sectioned from society. These are not normal things... And before anyone said vengeance Is the Lord's I know that.. but there must be a duty of care for victims of these sadistic crimes...

  4. Justice for this poor woman should be swift and merciless. St.Lucia should have a special forces unit for crimes such as these. How do people live in a country like this? There are too many victims and nit enough solutions.

  8. Same thing. Everybody continues to blame each other and not the ones who are responsible for handling Crime and Justice. I remember a few years ago when there were many patrols in the city many conducted by Monero and his crew. Crime had abaited in the city. This present government is faced with diminshed support of training and resources for the department, Non functioning Justice Department, Underfunded & messed up DDP Office, No Forensic Lab coupled with and INCAPABLE JUSTICE MINISTER. THey just sit there and do nothing about it while Lucians contiue to blame themselves. What excuse should i give for not owning up to my responsibility and do my work. How would you feel if i just shun my work and say "am only human." You would get angry with me. Stop making foolish excuses for politicians.
I will still echo my sentiments-- WE WILL DIE LIKE DOGS IN THIS COUNTRY!! WE MUST HOLD THESE PEOPLE FOR OUR WELL BEING.

In the Prime Minister's Budget Address was any serious effort made or was anything mentioned on Crime & Justice. NO!!!!! It was a about scoring cheap political points and endless money and consessions to be given to you know who. LUCIANS WATCH YOUR LIVES AND THAT OF YOUR CHILDREN. YOU WILL DIE LIKE DOGS IN THE STREET. I also heard that there are plans to cut the police force special constables. Is this of any advantage to us? We have a FANATICAL GOVERNMENT persistent on making themselves appear good just by demeaning others and comparing themselves to the characters they describe. Stupid Luicans still continue hang dem, kill them. They are all fools, your Justice system sucks. Hanging is still on our books but you cannot hang because the amount of time it takes for this case to get to court and the time in getting the evidence to be presented in court. Then the gods will come and say "de SYSTEM, DE SYSTEM LET HER DOWN." You all had better shut your trap since you do nothing about it since all of you all are aiders and abbettors of this system cause you don't demand form these guys better accountability. Look a Minister had some altercation with the police you can't even mention his name, fools. Sad, sad, sad.

  10. I am so sorry for this victim,I pray for her recovery, both physically and more long-term, mentally. I was raped in St Lucia over five years ago, my attacker is still free on bail, awaiting the trial at high court. I now live in uk due to sheer terror of recurrence. My mental health has been seriously affected. I will never been the same again.I wish the legal system would understand the effect these sexual attacks have on us victims. It damages your soul. Poor lady, I pray for you and send my love.

  11. This is unbelievable. Such violence.

I will continue to lament the need for a system which includes the prints and DNA of all natives and/or offenders. That way if DNA is found at a crime scene it can be linked. This is not rocket science...with a population under 200,000, over a 10 year period for example it can created.

Prints can be retrieved from newborns, when voting age is reached, when people renew their licences, ports of entry,or when they become offenders ... so may avenues can be used to collect information.

This doesn't have to be an over night thing but yah SLU government look into this please!

Too many cases of unsolved crimes. Also, please don't come with that privacy crap...cus when yall visit the US for example yall gladly smile for the camera and give your prints... no questions asked.
