He has been identified as Vincent Collymore aka ‘Ras’, originally of Laborie but resided at Reduit, Gros Islet.
Neighbours told SNO that Collymore’s son-in-law was heard arguing with him on Wednesday night, but he didn’t respond.
Collymore and his wife also had an argument yesterday, according to neighbours. Following that argument he left the house and never returned.
A relative told SNO that Collymore was not comfortable with his wife’s decision to accept employment with a ship.
The relative said he was persistent and wanted to prevent her from going.
One neighbour confirmed that Collymore was found hanging with a photo of his family on his chest. Another relative said he also left a note in his daughter’s school book which said, “Daddy loves you… I can’t take it anymore… goodbye.”
The couple had one daughter. He also has another child from a separate union. A cousin claimed that Collymore tried to hang himself about three years ago in his home but was unsuccessful.
This is the second hanging of a male in the Mongiraud area in recent times.
Police are conducting their investigation.
