A 19-year-old has been charged in connection with the stabbing of 29-year-old Kiran Herman of Bishop’s Gap, Castries earlier this week.
Junior Combie, originally from Hospital Road but lives in Marchand, Castries was yesterday charged with grievous harm and appeared in a Castries court today where he was granted $4,000 cash bail or suitable surety. He is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 9.
Combie is accused of stabbing Herman twice on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at Bishop’s Gap, Marchand.
Herman was allegedly stabbed after he intervened in a dispute between a female cousin and Combie.
Herman, a Ministry of Infrastructure employee, was released from hospital Wednesday morning.
Combie meanwhile is no stranger to the news. In January 2013, he was shot and injured on Hospital Road, Castries.

Can we rally mentally, to help the youth of our country? The youths probably doesn't have their dad's at home, and consequently fall into the wrong crew. Their dad's may be in prison as a result of abusive youthful days, and probably never recovered from the trauma. Their mom's may be busy at work trying not to get their breasts and buttocks touched, there probably was never any quality time spent with the children where they are shown support and assistance, they loiter aimlessly on the highways and byways being knocked down, longing for a family. They desperately need our love and compassion.

Whilst I do not condone any form of violence, especially emanating from the youth, what exactly are the root causes contributing to our social ills. What role are fathers playing? Where are they? How are we educating our youth? Not everyone is academically inclined. Some children are ostracized very early even by teachers at time. Low self esteem is developed. Are there alternatives? Entrepreneurship is not the game of the day as finance is required. Whilst these are not an attempt to present excuses but primarily to state that there is a deeper underlying issue which must be addressed to assist and help our already excluded youth in this our dire financial era. Our youth feel the pain of their mothers whom they are incapable of helping. Mothers who struggle go make ends meet and work into the wee hours of the morning. With no other incentive but their salary. Watching their siblings struggle with no food to go to school and being the eldest feel incapacitated with no job. Where is that HOPE. Just saying. Some children, youth may have gone through their very own trauma with no intervening psychological help. Remain angry. Witness abuses at home. Parents abusing each other physically and emotionally. There is so much more. Then you may say that we must all take responsibility for our actions.
so true
goodness gracious why are they so angry?
In such instances our judicial system fails us. Those guys (criminals) commit those crimes and the penalty is that of a baby. I say squeeze those guys balls on a daily basis till they even regret thinking about such crime Muchless commuting it!!!
Park his tail in jail. Teenager? He make more POS like himself. Let him in at the hotel at Bordelais.
