PRESS RELEASE – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 48 year old, Renee Joseph of Jacmel, Anse La Raye.

On Tuesday, December 29, 2015 Joseph was admitted to the Victoria Hospital after being struck by a bicycle ridden by 17 year old, Neilus Henry of Jacmel, Anse La Raye.

The accident occurred at Blackstone, Anse La Raye.

On Saturday, January 2, 2016 Joseph succumbed to her injuries.

A post mortem has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 5, 2016.

  1. ? Don't u think that this young boy should at least been charged or don't u think there should at least be a court case with the police because. For all I know it was reckless driving. And that death wad by carelessness.so don't. U think that he should have at least been charged

  3. Yes a bicycle can kill you, just imagine if the rider was going down a hill, the speed and the force that came into that person the damage can kill. It's very tragic that a bicycle ride can cause so such pain.
    Lets us as a nation be very cautious when riding our bikes on the island roads. Slow down, be a careful bicycle rider. May he/she rest in peace.

  4. RIP Renee, it's sad on both party.SNO will publish the teenager's name but when it's the criminal they take long.what about protecting the teenagers identity

    • The teenager is not a suspect and was not arrested. Furthermore, the article was written and distributed by the police force.

    • But to me it is the laws of the land that depending on the nature of the crime or should i say incident it is unlawful to release that info unless the person or suspects are has been officially charged
