UPDATE: Man hospitalised following shooting

A man is now in serious but stable condition at Victoria Hospital following a shooting incident in Rock Hall, Castries at about 10 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2013.

The man, known as Mitch, was reportedly shot multiple times outside his house. About five to seven shots were reportedly fired at the victim who was placed on a vehicle and rushed to hospital.

He was reportedly responsive while being taken to hospital.

A burgundy Honda Integra was reportedly the getaway vehicle. Interestingly a burgundy 1989 Honda car, registration number PG7065, was stolen near Pizza Pizza in Rodney Bay between 8 p.m. and 9:40 p.m.

However, there is no official report that the incidents are related but investigations continue.

  1. Two years ago the police went out and did hits on those well known criminals, crime did go down for the year until they were largly criticized. I honestly don't no wat we Lucians want, we combat crime the way it supposed to we criticize, crime happens, we criticize. I no damn well we no who shot mitch and i'm certain if da cops go after him and tek him out there will be another public outcry

  2. Why does it always have to be the prime minister or government to be blamed for crime. No matter which party was in power there would still be crime .These crimminals makes it so difficult to walk the streets of Pavee and now Mitch gets shot you'll blaming Kenny!!!! He paid for what he's done to people in the past. He has made people like my family cry so what he got today was his judgement. That's an eye opener for all those reckless crimminals and i'm not feeling a pinch of remorse for Mitch. We should all pray that crime stops in St.Lucia, other wise family memebers will be hurting constantly.

  3. The question should be...where the F*** are the guns coming from, and what can we do to stop the flow from upstream. And yes, it is a political issue, because the primary goal of any government (past and present) is safety of the citizens. It is the most basic requirement, and they know it. They have constantly failed the people, therefore, they are losers.

  4. Why are we blaming the government for every time a fool decide to take law in their own hands.it is high time they take responsibility for their action. There is crime all over the world not only in St. lucia.

  5. Please stop blaming the Prime Minister irrespective of which ever Government for crime. You cant have police officers in each and every corner of the island to enforce law and order. Look at New York City, it has the world's largest and most advanced police force yet crime its still at a high rate, are you still goin to blame the President or the State's representative?

    • We are not only blaming the prime minster we also blaming the opposition as well, because our hard earn tax dollars were used to pay for cameras and strategic positions in north and on the way Castries, especially where that car was stolen i hope the our vessels of the law will go over it and get the one responsible for it. But honestly police have an idea who did already because the full aware of who doing what in this country , whether they are brought to justice well that's another story....... i blame both political parties because this deterioration of our society didn't just start last night .......
