UPDATE: Police investigating latest homicide

Police are currently investigating the homicide of 45-year-old George Montoute, aka Caught Up, of Hospital Road, Castries.

Montoute succumbed to a gunshot wound at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, June 2, 2013.

According to a police press release, on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at about 8:37 pm, Criminal Investigations Department officers responded to a shooting incident report at Hospital Road.

“The officers immediately proceeded to the scene of the alleged incident. Upon arrival they observed a male individual lying on his right side, covered in blood. He appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to the lower torso. That individual was identified as 45-year-old George Montoute, also known as Caught Up of Hospital Road, Castries. Montoute was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and admitted. On Sunday, June 2, 2013, George Montoute succumbed to his injury whilst at Victoria Hospital,” the press release added.

A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.

Its about time the police chief maintain respect from his men,who makes him look like a total fool,in the eyes of the public,as an X-police man,in the seventies,the police force had total decipline,respect to senior officers,that means without decipline,the entire police force is no more but a government liability,getting paid,by doing zip,nothing,total desaster...shame,shame..

  3. If you possess a gun and you're not in law enforcement or licensed, then you should spend the rest of your life in jail, away from the public because you intend to shoot someone, someday.
    Life should be celebrated not taken away, no matter what that Soul has done on Earth. The Creator gives us that Breath of Life and no one has the right to send It back with an incomplete mission.
    I do think that it is now time to bring in curfews to certain parts of the Island, starting with Castries. Hire more Coppers too cuz this shate has to stop.
