A Laborie resident has been charged with the murder of Saadia Byron.
Anyika Montoute, who was rearrested on Tuesday this week, was charged today, Thursday, March 22, 2018, according to sources.
Montoute is expected to appear in court on Friday, March 23.
Byron’s body was discovered in a shallow stone grave near her home in Laborie on November 11, 2017, a day after she was reported missing.
Relatives said Byron was raped and murdered.
Following her death, a number of persons, including Montoute, were brought into custody for questioning but released without charge.
