PRESS RELEASE – On Thursday, August 20, 2015 Police Constable 699 Davidson Alexander was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Harm, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Unnecessary Violence.

He was charged in relation to an incident which took place on March 14, 2015, at the Gros-Islet Police Station where Caster James, a 21 year old resident of Gros-Islet reported Alexander for allegedly assaulting him whilst in custody.

  1. When a criminal suspect is arrested, booked and granted release on their "own recognizance," no bail money is paid to the court and no bond is posted.
The suspect is merely released after promising, in writing, to appear in court for all upcoming proceedings.... So why does the article read, "He was bailed on his own recognizance in the sum of EC$1,000.00..."?

  3. U guys know Davidson is not responsible for this but he is not u ll boy so i guess he will take the fall. U guy know dam well is a member of the black squad who did this 1 of them u ll transferred to gros islet.

That commissioner and his boy quick to arrest and change officers without proper and in depth investigations but trust me Davidson case will bring another lawsuit in u ll ass. The same way u ll embarrassed , arrested and charged 3 officers for money u ll said they stole while all the time the money was right there.

Davidson hold strong cause they know u not the 1. They just protecting they black squad boy but he will do it again. And make sure u sue the royal st . Lucia police force when u win ur matter. 2 and a half million.

  5. Police officers are paid to do their jobs. They know the Law. What gives them the right to assault anyone? Wether in their custody or not? If someone has committed a crime, I say charge them. However they have no right to assault anyone. Those who are guilty of this need to stop as they are tarnishing the reputation of the police force.
This means they are no better than the criminals out there. Only difference is they wear uniforms. Some believe they are above the Law. Well hope they get the message. Some have no respect for themselves and others. They believe they can say what they want and persons should not respond because they are the law. I am glad the last something is finally being done to curb this behavior. Cameras should be installed in the stations, cells, etc
We do have some very good officers who take their work seriously. To them I say continue with community policing. Be positive . Work with the young people you would be surprise the information you can get from them if you get them to respect and trust you.

  6. So many officers hav been charged and nothing happens to them some charge for stealing money and threathen to sue media for publishing their faces . They get suspended for long period and still have a salary . Dirty cops shouldvbe fired immediately and charged accordingly no suspension no getting paid

  7. I hope that the cops are not deterred from performing their duties because of this arrest. Knowing the laws of the land should be the first criterion to qualify an individual to become a cop . One must know the law to obey the law.

  8. NOW IMAGINE WHAT THAT OFFICER COULD HAVE DONE TO A MENTALLY- DISTURBED INDIVIDUAL.
ANGER MANAGEMENT COURSES FOLLOWED BY REGULAR PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS SHOULD BE MANDATORY FOR ALL POLICE OFFICERS.

  9. People you' lll not getting it , we have no law , far less law enforcement officers . I use to believe that they were some good cops but that was BS , that doesn't exist in Lucia.

And by next week all of this will be dream , we still be getting shafted by politicians , insurance companies will still be bending us over , the banks will still be peeing in our eyes., a nice foreigner will come with millions to invest and the people will still get shafted .

Silence will always be golden but remember duct tape is silver...

    • The officer was ARRESTED and CHARGED on three counts. Isn't that a part win for the plaintiff and chances are he gets convicted. That's still the system shafting?
