Police in Vieux Fort are investigating the Boxing Day death of a female student of the Vieux Fort Comprehensive School.

St. Lucia News Online received unofficial reports that the student, Jasma Dublin, 15, is suspected of committed suicide. She was allegedly found hanging at her home.

SNO has confirmed the death but is currently trying to verify the alleged circumstances surrounding the incident. We will update you as soon as we receive more information.

Friends of Jasma have already begun to post condolences on her Facebook profile wall.

  2. imm soo shickedd and the poor girl lived just next to me and never did she shw a sign of being suicidal..the whole of vieux-fort s totally stunned by this ..im so sad about what happened ..my condolecies go out to her family..may she rest in peace poor girl..:(

  3. I am in total disbelief on the comments made on such a thrum. It is a sad situation where the nation should sit back and take a moment to comprehend. fifteen years old possible committed suicide. We have to pay better attention to our kids,we have to question them, speak to them, be their friends, no their friends. Thats the only way we can know whats going on in our childrens lives.Its indeed a sad situation but its also an eye opening situation for nation as a whole.   7. Whoaa it's a sad situation. I really hope god gives the family strenght. But what is really puzzling is what would have possibly cause her to do that...I suggest they look for her diary if she had one and see what's inside.

  8. I saw an HTS reporter pronouncing Vieux-Fort as View-Fort. It's Vieux, which means old in French. View is the ability to see something or to be seen from a particular place.
    If you want to say it in English, please say Old-Fort, otherwise you look like a fool.
