  2. I am reading all this and yet I can't say who is at fault. If there was a third vehicle involved which most described as the reckless driver why is blamed cast upon the truck driver. If one is making a statement or comment he/she use facts to do so. Haven't said this the fact still remains that lots of lives are lost by reckless driving where these individuals are more than likely to be under the influence of alcohol. Sad to say I too at some point in my life was guilty of this. However, this news report has touched me deeply and as I type, I vow never to drive so selfish, reckless and under the influence again. To the family I would like to convey my deepest sympathies and may the good Lord see you through. From all accounts Andy was a good man....RIP bro!!!

  3. Why Andy? Why now? Why not the reckless driver?

I am very much saddened by his death and felt cold and empty when I drove past the accident scene yesterday.

RIP comrade and my heartfelt condolences to his wife and family.......also the banking and sporting fraternities.

    One love!!!!

  4. I am lost for words, Don't know what to say. My heart pores out with pain to Andy's family members and friends.... Mr PM you'll need to enforce the law on reckless driving in this country. I see nonsense on these roads every single day. When will it STOP... Look how the Andy lost his life! Eyewitness actually said he stopped to avoid the accident but the jackass truck driver drove into his car. I am so upset right now.. I am not mentioning names, but certain construction companies here in St Lucia truck drivers, drive those big trucks like they're driving a car, with no care in the world. Mr PM and all who are responsible for making and enforcing the law. First lets start by raising the age range for driver's license from 18 to the age 21.... Secondly I think if you are charged for causing death on the road your licence should be taken away from you for life.....

  8. Nothing ever happens to those who cause these accidents, while the family and friends of innocent victims are left to mourn and suffer.
Charges should really start being put into place for people who cause the death of others by their reckless driving.
    RIP Andy.

  10. Drivers out there you drive too wreckless specially the men. They overtake you only to be stopping two minuites ahead. I am a female driver and to see the kind of driving!!
It's like a race track out there, there needs to be more care taken when one drives. Your actions costs lives, on holidays worse, no more Driving Miss Daisy. My condolences goes out to your family sir, may you rest peacefully.

  11. I can bet $10000 that this truck was not road worthy! My guess is that 90% of heavy haulage trucks on St. LUCIA's roads are not. Too little too late...sad! Seems like we need a coup to get change here.

  12. Just a whole bunch of idiots driving on our roads, insensitive, drunk reckless you name it. The sad thing about it is that they are just made to pay a fine and walk away. It's about time legislation is amended so these reckless drivers can check themselves.

Andy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, dear friend and excellent manager. I have known him for the past twenty five years he was a wonderful person with a beautiful personality, empathetic with a heart of a lamb. Never too busy to give a listening ear, always willing to assist and had this unending love for children. If he could speak to us now he would say “Be of good cheer, be at peace with yourselves and most importantly with God”.

My deepest condolences to his dear wife Wendy-Ann and sons who he loved so dearly. Also to his mom and the rest of his family “BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN, FOR THEY WILL BE COMFORTED” (Matthew 5:4)

  13. Some body tell me there is charges pending for this reckless imbecile. I mean wow, somebody must have been speeding and if you driving reckless with no care for other motorist on the road way. You need to be charged; And if people are dying as a result of your careless foolishness. You need to be charged with vehicular homicide. IT SHOULDN'T BE ANY OTHER WAY!

    • Blessed you and me both are hurting, Andy was such a cool, warm hearted, excited and optimistic fellow. I knew him as a child from Babonneau. Tears fill my eyes when I heard about this. Am sad and mad at the same time. I want there to be justice, I feel like this was vehicular murder. I feel someone needs to made an example of so that this does not happen again. It's just sad, it affects everyone who knew Andy or interacted with him.

  15. I WILL CHALLENGE THE AUTHORITIES TO STEP IT UP. THE LAST GOVERNMENT NEVER SAW IT FIT TO PURCHASE SPEEED GUNS, BUT THIS MUST BE DONE IMMEDIATELY.

  16. It is very sad how this man died .The family is in great pain.I must say that someone who witnessed the accident indicated that it was a reckless driver overtaking a container in a blind corner who with a line of vehicles behind the corner being careful..This reckless driver however, couldnt wait and upon overtaking,a truck coming in his direction. The truck drained himself to avoid hitting the reckless driver and the man stopped to avoid it.He was the one who met his demise because of the reckless driver. This reckless driver never stopped to see what happened and what his driving caused. So sad.If that's exactly what happened, may this driver, find it within himself to plead to God and say he is sorry..

  17. We have to start with the authorities in charge of transport then the driving schools, they haven't got a clue what they're doing. Driving school vehicles should be stock without tinted windows, mag wheels etc. and all lights functioning. Law enforcement don't use the turning signals and always on their phones. Mini Bus drivers are in control of our roads, they do as they please without being charged. Like they do in other countries put random spotters dressed in civilian on busses to keep them in check. Now we have the road BULLIES the TRUCKS! They have absolutely no respect nor regards for other road users..

    (2)(2)
  18. I need to commend the rslpf for handling the accident in such a manner must annoying...you guys chose to put the detour sign all the way up past the most logical point....why have commuter drive all the way up to the general hospital round about only to send them back...ciceron gap is right there....what is the mean of detour?...it means alternative route...where is the alternative route when you have the sign right next to flows headquarters...with that being said...i want to send my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased....please sir...Do RIP.

  20. The Innocent again... so sad

  21. Well plop drive with no safe following distance. If you leave 100 ft in front of you at 60 to 70 the jackass behind will over take. We think we will never crash we over take any time and for what to get to our destination which maybe a bar 30 seconds earlier. The police don't care if you drive fast or if you drive on ur back wheel on a motor bike. They just care about the 300 dollar license and insurance and seat belt.
When last did the police cancel a license for reckless driving.????

    (37)(16)
    • Yes yes blame it on the police. The police cannot be expected to fill in everywhere society fails. We have a responsibility for our own safety. So let's all drive to stay alive.

      (11)(3)
    • Not sure why you have so many thumb downs but what you said there is so true

      (4)(2)
  22. The whole body should have been blurred!

    (26)(7)
  23. Condolences to Mr. Delmar's family. Didn't know him but the positives being said about him says that we have lost a good son of the soil.

To the motoring public, please drive for yourselves and those around you. Some of these truck drivers forget that they have in control one of the most dangerous weapons on the road. They drive so fast, you swear they are in a sports car. Special appeal, please drive carefully, you are NOT the only ones on the road .
