POLICE: Robbery suspect admitted at VH after being shot by off-duty officer

POLICE PRESS RELEASE – About 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department received a report of a shooting at Water Wo0rks road, Castries.

On arrival at the scene, the officers received information that an off-duty police officer had discharged two rounds of ammunition in the direction of two young males. At the time, the males were robbing a 19-year-old student of the Sir Athur Lewis Community College.

As a result, one of the males sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and admitted. The other suspected robber managed to get away on foot.

The student was on his way to a training session when he was attacked.

Investigations into the matter continue.

  1. GOD forbid but they shud put the officer in jail lol because he shoot the robber the wrong place he shud take him in his head,chest or back kill him its true things hard but y wud u want to rob a poor man like yurself they need to kill them make examples of them they must learn

  3. Its amazing the outpour of comments of people that wanted him dead. If he was shoot dead it will be awhole different story.
    Hats off to the police officer. Too many of our young man just der looking for quick money.

    And to see the class of females that encourage this is very sad.

  5. @Gp you must have some metal retardation or something.People should be able to walk around with any item they purchase wherever they want.I have no choice, but to believe that you are the lucky one that got away and you are mad because your friend or family member was not as fortunate.Sad and ignorant comment Gp.

  7. That guy is always robbing or stealing. It would have been sad if he died bt u make ur bed u lay in it. Officer good job! Thank god nothing happened to the student. However we need 2 accept a bit of responsibility when we allow ourselves 2 be targeted. I understand we work hard 4 our things (ive been robbed 13 times) & 2 hv them taken away from us 4 no reason can set off a fuse in our heads bt can be replaced , not our lives though...think we can all agree it is better to be safe than sorry.

I kinda agree with gp in a way but really an truly this is da better days we voted for i mean if u think there was more employment in the country don't u think they wud be less crime i mean things are hard ppl wud do n e thing tu live i mean a man has got tu eat doesn't mean someone shud get hurt but thts the way things will continue if better implementations are nt put in plac by better government so i dont blame da guy bt i do feel sad for da kid bt wat can i say it's the better days urll asked fur take wat urll get
