Abducted man found alive

Sources have confirmed that the man who was abducted from his home in New Village, Castries this afternoon, Wednesday, May 1, 2013, has been found alive.

Reports are that Michael Philip aka Tourka or Mikey of New Village, Castries was found in Cacao, Babbonneau hours after he was abducted at about 2:35 pm by three unknown individuals and driven away in a white Nissan vehicle.

Sources say the car and the assailants have not been found. Police are investigating.

St. Lucia News Online understands that Philip is currently at Victoria Hospital in good health and does not have any life-threatening injuries. However, our news team is not yet able to confirm what injuries he sustained.

Reports are that Philip was stabbed, beaten and some of his locks pulled out of his head.

A resident told St. Lucia News Online that the incident occurred in full view of several people.

“I’m standing by the road inside New Village and they just kidnapped a guy nicknamed ‘Mikey’ with locks. They entered his house, hit him with a hammer and put him in a vehicle and left with him,” the eyewitness said.

Other accounts indicated that the men approached Philip and hit him in the face. The victim reportedly ran into his house where he was held and grabbed by his locks. He was then dragged to a waiting car.

  1. Crime happening in our beloved St. Lucia is startling to us bcuz we are not accustom to it happening here. In the US, UK, elsewhere, it's still dishearting, but no big deal. In St. Lucia, land of our birth, it's different, too close to home. With these changing times, our laws MUST be updated. This is something for the next elections. I'm not endorsing any party, but let's have leaders who have the betterment of St. Lucia as an important agenda of his/hers. Enough of colours (Red, Yellow, Green, etc, etc), we need leaders with goals for the improve of St. Lucia, not just the North.

    • The community has to step up and relay to the Police, where and when they see things going on and who is doing it/did it. The PM isn't going to come there with his weapon to save us. The Gov't can only do so much. But i do agree the laws need to be updated and made tougher.

  11. I'm guessing he didn't keep his end of the bargain? Could it be connected to the drugs that some people recently lost to the RSLPF? Or could it be that he witnessed something he shouldn't have? Just guessing!!!
I have faith that the Coppers will get them, but make sure they get shot in the arse...it is the new thing. You break the law, you get shot in the arse :).

  12. We need to cover this country with the blood of Jesus Christ. Because this country has been sold to skd by his agents. Only by God's grace we shall be saved.

  15. Lucia hav no laws in place for people like that. Criminals get away wit any and everything. A little time served and that's it! No wonder so many ppl wanna migrate. I don't blame them.

    • There are laws in place. If one just takes time to read the law and apply it where necessary it will work. We are the law.
