Hotel owner feared dead

Police are investigating the missing report of a popular hotel owner in the north.

SNO understands the businessman did not come home last night and the vehicle he owns matches the description of the burnt Range Rover which was discovered with a charred body on board in Cap Estate last night.

Family members of the hotel owner have lodged a report to the Gros Islet Police Station who are investigating the burnt human remains and vehicle that were discovered around 9 p.m.  Friday.

However, before releasing the identity of the hotel owner, police are trying to locate another person who drives a similar model vehicle.

  2. it is time st. lucians wake up and smell the coffee and stop playing party politics. The bomb is ticking and no body is taking heed. Maybe they will when it is too late. St. Lucians are copy cats when it comes to evrything else except when it comes to politics. That is one time they should copy the americans and adopt the way they play politics. But again St. Lucians don't even know their rights, much less to understand politics, and the politicians know that, that is why they keep shoving all sorts of garbage down their throats and all they do is swallow and digest. St. Lucian wake up and face realitor and stop being illiterate and naieve. Most of us because we can read and write think we are literate, but once you cannot understand what you read or what's happening around you, you are illiterate. Make it your business to see, know and understand the games that are being played, while this people who make up the country is being crippling and being backed in the corner because we make our selves defenseless.

  4. there is too much lawlessness/evil in the small island, and the politicians who are supposed to be grown mend leading by example are not making things any better in theis place. It is so shameful when i sit before my tv on an evening to watch the local news, the way our so call leaders at each other throats, is always a mapwee, accusing each other. As far as i see they are all the same and are more benefactors. They are all in favor of the pockets first and to hell with what's next. Smh it is so unbecoming.
The government can do alot better than what they are doing right now they only concern is to blee the nation and drink the blood of the nations such hippocrites. Always crying wolf and there is no wolf.
Another thing they can very well sent the retired nurses whis are presently on staff receiving how many salaries and give the young nurses a chance. it will take several years befor before those young nurses can climb the scale and receive the salaries those pension nurses are receiving. All due respect to those pension nurses who have made contributions to us as a people, and were recalled when their services were needed, but let's face reality it is time to move on. When we think we have taken five steps forward, in thruth and in fact we have really take ten steps backwards. At the rate this country is going. I think the people should be calling for a premature election. We need to go back to the polls sooner than later to save our backsides from those modern days vampires.

  6. I hate to be the bearer of sad knews and say "I told you so." I have been predicting that Lucians will die like dogs and everybody is still in disbelief. "Is not Kenny to blame" "is this one and that one." I had also predicted that you would be blaming yourself.

It is true that government cannot stop crime entirely but with weak institutions and policies perpetuated by these governments criminals become brave. Take for example reduced assistance to the police force in detecting and solving crime, A almost non-existent Justice System and a minister who is only heard when it is time to sue somebody or to throw out some garbage, A soaring unemployment rate, Soaring Public Debt, high inflation and taxes along with a Government who continues along with their comrades to live lavishly while not acknowleging the hardship of its people. With that same disregard of people the people have now turned on themselves. Very soon it will be a civil war where everyone will be competing for the same megre resources. Suppporters who had kept the people believing that progress is being made would now look to government for their slice of the pie. Others will feel marginalized while we look the other way when dealing with escalating crime. We have also turned away when our own government is guilty of this same type of crinal activity. But alas, Why would government be interested in adressing crime and Justice when government is the main transgressor?

We will only blame who we have entrusted with our care when it reach home. And to say the truth it almost there. KNOCK< KNOCK. Ask the Jamaicans, Trinis, Hatians etc.

  8. THEO - or whatever your actual name is. You can keep your small minded and generally offensive comments to your ignorant self. A man was murdered, a brother, a son, a brother, a friend.....not some topic for you to berate and treat as some sort of sick entertainment for yourself. The fact you use the mans fathers name as your screen name only displays the cowardess you possess and disrespect you have for the grieving family or anyone else with heart. If the same was to happen to you I wonder if the general public would bestow the same level of disrespect or lack of consideration to you and your family as you have displayed here......your a despicable human being and you should only feel shame for your ignorant remarks.

  10. Jah Say: what does any prime minister have to do with crime. Ppl,need to stop blaming the politicians they are not the ones sending ppl to commit the crimes. Its these low life that decide to make crime their jobs.

    • Don't you think that the Govt should be partially be blamed for the crime situation. Don't you believe if thee were more job opportunities it would have been different. Do you believe if unemployment continue to increase (God forbid) the crime situation will worsen? So the Govt have their part to play and it is not just catching the criminals but help get the young jobs.

  12. To Invincible and Miss Pak, I can assure you both that I did pay attention in school and I am very aware that SNO is not the RSLPF. In my post I was complimenting SNO for not identifying the individual as in the past they have been in the habit of doing so before the identity of the victim was released by the police. I am and has always been of the view that the family members of those victims should first be notified by the proper authorities after which the identities can be release to the public.
I know that news media houses like to be the first to come out with Breaking News but in doing so they too have a responsibility. If you two individuals are avid readers of this news medium you would realized that in the last two to three breaking news articles which SNO has released the identity of victims were released without the mention of the police releasing the names. I am therefore left to reason that they SNO did so on their own accord.
I can assure you that in other jurisdictions, protocol dictates that before the media release the names of victims they should get the all clear from the police. The families should NOT get that type of information from online blogs, or any other media houses.
Lastly to invincible I do hope you will realized that I do not have a hard time understanding and I did pay attention in school. Hope you are enlightened lol.

  13. Couldn't the police identify the vehicle by its registration number or VIN? Suspected homicide or suicide, since the body was found in the passengers seat.

      • Since you guys are at it, do you think it will be safe to have that anticipate large crowd in Soufriere, at KASSAV, on Thursday. In my view the place is too small to hold 6 thousand people for such activity. I am almost starting to think Soufriere town itself might be too small for such activity, taking packing into consideration and people walking all around soufriere. I hope there will be police patrolling the whole town of Soufriere. Yes it is the crime I am worried about including house breaking.

    • What's about the local people? Who is going to protect them, definitely not the government. This things go deeper than we know.
