weatherResidents and interests in Saint Lucia and the Lesser Antilles are being warned to take the necessary precautions as severe weather is expected to occur from tonight, according to the 6 a.m. weather report from the St. Lucia Met Services.
“Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with a low pressure system centered about 470 miles or 756 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles is becoming better organised.
“This system is expected to start affecting the region from tonight as it moves westward at about 15 to 20 mph or 24 to 31 km/h, and has the potential to become a tropical depression during the next 24 to 48 hours,” the Met Services said.
Residents in Saint Lucia and the Lesser Antilles are being urged to continue to monitor the progress of this system.
Also the Met Services is reporting that, “Another area of low pressure and a tropical wave located over the central and far eastern tropical Atlantic are both moving westward at about 15 to 20 mph or 24 to 31 km/h. These systems continue to produce disorganised showers and thunderstorms and some gradual development is possible during the next few days.”
