  1. Speed kills. The faster you drive the lesser your chances of survival. This is not rocket science. If there is road construction going on, the Department of Transportation should see to it that these areas are clearly marked with cones and warning lights to alert drivers of these hazards. This is the 21st century come on.

  6. these cars are made to go from point A to point B. not made to withstand full speed track driving like we try to do with them.

  7. Yes the general condition of the road needs to be suitable for driving and where it falls below a satisfactory standard, signs need to be put up. So although this maybe a contributing factor, bad driving it the reason for this crash and many others reported by SNO. If the roads in SLU were perfect, it would encourage higher speeds so the fatalities would be much higher.

  8. the break/indentation in the the road most likely by a wasco pipe will cause vehicles to get unstable. its in a 70 degree + corner, incline/decline with the reverse bank. older vehicles with worn out suspension will loose control even if under speed limit.

  9. Wasco messing up all the Ppl roads. They dig stuff up after its never the same. A message for Wasco. Just come to laborie and do your shate on the road and don't level it out and u will see what will happen to u.

  10. I appeal to all responsible parties to do their jobs and save the citizens of the country any more unnecessary hardships, property loss, pain, bruises, bone fractures, broken limbs and loss of life. When will there be standards to be upheld and accountability for our actions or inactions ?

  11. It's not just if you are speeding, if the road is wet it is a big hazard. I was involved in an accident there (our car started spinning), just after another vehicle coming the opposite way had basically been written off. So two accidents, same place, pretty much at the same time. Sorry to see that it it STILL not fixed. AWA

  12. I cannot believe it. You guys are blaming WASCO & the ministry of infrastructure for this accident. Had the driver been paying attention and driving at a moderate speed he surely would have observed the indentation and modified his speed to accommodate that. Zero tolerance for Reckless drivers.

    • You better believe it cuz its their fault. PUHleeezz do you work for the ministry? They are responsible for ensuring that the roads are not hazardous!! They are partly to blame. many have lost their live in that corner

  17. Concern. I am from Dennery like you and I agree with your comment. Wasco and the ministry need to fix the indentation in that corner.

    • idiot...cars were meant to go fast...thats why they got so many hitting 240 and many more hitting 100 under 10 seconds...its our roads and inexperienced drivers that weren't meant to have access to such speedy freedom

  19. I am from Dennery area. This spot has cost so many lives over the years. The corner is sharp and at the moment there is tilt in the road after wasco dug for pipe works. The trench was covered but if you travelling down with a little speed the vehicle can lose balance. I am not sure what happen with the car but from my own experience going up and down this road i am not surprised. The Ministry of Infrasture need to ensure trenches are level with the road at all times. There are so many trenches along the roads which can damage your vehicle especially at nights when its dark you cant always see them.
