St. Lucia News Online (SNO) received reports of the fire at about 7:30 p.m. The man’s body was removed shortly before 10 p.m. by Rambally’s Funeral Parlour.
The contents and roof of the two-story structure were totally destroyed.
SNO understands that the elderly man’s son is a fire officer who had left minutes before the fire started.
