UPDATE: George is the 17th road fatality victim for 2014
George.
George.

One man is dead following a motorcycle accident in Caye Mange, Gros Islet on Sunday, Oct. 19 at around 2:40 p.m.

He is 27-year-old Garvy George, also known as Kartel, a resident of Lafeuille, Monchy. He sustained a gruesome head injury.

According to numerous eyewitnesses, George was heading towards the Beausejour Cricket Grounds from Caye Mange when he swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle and ended up hitting the drain.

One eyewitness gave a different account, saying George crashed whilst attempting to overtake a vehicle. He fell into a gutter and died on the spot.

However, police said in a press release on Monday that George was on a motorcycle travelling along the Caye Mange, Monchy road when he “ran off the pitched surface of the road and collided into a wall”.

Tire marks on the road, believed to have been caused by George’s motorcycle, are visible from a distance.

Rambally’s Funeral Parlour arrived on the scene around 4 p.m. to remove the body and left about 4:35. A doctor arrived on the scene about half hour earlier (around 3:35) to pronounce the body dead.

Police said this is the 17th road fatality recorded thus far for 2014.

  2. SMH.... It seems only good boys dose die. I hope that son of that senior police man in charge of the Traffic Department take heed and stop all the stunts he doing on the Beausejour Rd. His father busy checking drivers on the road and his son doing nonsense on the road up to yesterday Sunday.

  4. The driver of the mini bus was in no way responsible for that accident...one man is dead let us sympathize with his family and stop trying to destroy another man. The word "accident" is in the English language for a reason
