shootingCNN – Fifty people were killed inside Pulse, a gay nightclub, Orlando Police Chief John Mina and other officials said Sunday morning, just hours after a shooter opened fire in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

At least 53 more people were injured, Mina said. Police have shot and killed the gunman, he told reporters.

“It’s appears he was organized and well-prepared,” the chief said, adding that the shooter had an assault-type weapon, a handgun and “some type of (other) device on him.”
Officials warned that a lengthy investigation was ahead, given the number of victims and the scope of the violence.

“There’s blood everywhere,” U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson told reporters. “There’s an enormous amount of evidence to be collected.”

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said he had declared a state of emergency for the city and has requested the governor do the same for the state.

  2. It is obvious that shoving anything that is against someone's culture down their throats will come with consequences. Everything that was right such as equal rights between black and white, right to vote etc. did come with blood sweat and tears, farless something which people consider to be wrong. I hope that those insisting and advocating for such a movement also think of the sacrifices which have to be made in order to become accepted. People are known to resist change especially when it focuses on faith.

Technology has advanced, even knowledge and some humanitarian advancement can be achieved, however, there is one aspect of humanity which remains static and may even regress, and that is faith. At every point in the earth's journey we will find a faith which has tried to impose its version of faith on the rest of the world by force. This also leaves an important philosophical question unanswered: Is the marginalization effect of religion worst than that of politics ?

  3. Saint Lucia must issue a Travel Warning for persons travelling to the USA because of the abundance of mass murderers, serial killers, terrorists, etc. etc who seem to inhabit and infest that country.
Sadly, there may be more mass shootings in the USA unless their Constitution and laws are amended to restrict access to ammunition, pistols and semi-automatic assault rifles but in the interim the powerful National Rifle Association (NRA) and the gun lobby promote gun rights.
How many more must die before America realizes that guns and ammo should not be as easy to purchase as one would buy tools from a hardware store.

    • Let's hope they get rid of you for the wrongs you have done. He who is without sin...

    • I take it that you are a proud heterosexual. There is more to a person than sexuality. No one deserves to die because of his/her sexual orientation! The lack compassion for others who do not share your sexual orientation diminishes you and put you on the same damned page as that heartless, murderous bigot!

I wish you cultivate tolerance and compassion for others to enrich your soul and to radiate outwards to the world. Peace.

  7. The world has been desensitized when it comes to gun violence in America, because they love their guns too much. They live by the gun!
