



Amy Stephen, representing the Saint Lucia Tourist Board and hailing from the community of Anse La Raye, came out victorious in the National Carnival Queen pageant held at the National Cultural Centre Saturday night.
Stephen was awarded Miss Photogenic, Best In Swim Wear, Best Interview and Best in Costume Wear as she amassed 566 points to win the queen title.
Described as a soft-spoken, energetic and witty individual, Stephen, 19, is said to be no stranger to pageants.
The former Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School (LHCSH) student placed first in the Mr & Ms LHCSH in 2005 and represented St. Lucia at the Haynes Smith Caribbean’s Most Talented Teen Pageant in St. Kitts where she copped the second runner-up spot in 2008.
Meanwhile, Jamara Smith, with 529 points, was awarded the first runner-up position; Zena George, the second runner-up spot with 508 points; and Michelle St. Clair, the third runner-up with 488 points.
Each contestant received a participating award and a gift from M&C Drugstore.
