UPDATED: Another Sarrot resident killed by vehicle

A female pedestrian is dead following a motor vehicle accident in Sarrot in the wee hours of Sunday morning, May 5, 2013.

Reports are that the victim, 55-year-old Fredericka Ellick of Sarrot, was hit by a vehicle driven by an off-duty police officer, 26-year-old Kurt Joseph of Millet, Anse La Raye.

Police said a grey Toyota Corolla motor car, registration number PJ6869, driven by Joseph of Millet, was travelling in a westerly direction along the Sarrot road when it came into contact with Ellick who was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance.

She was pronounced dead on arrival.

Ellick is the second person from Sarrot to die from being hit by a vehicle in one week.

On Saturday, April 27, 2013, 41-year-old Tirus Mann of Sarrot was hit by a silver motor pick up, registration number TG379, driven by 33-year-old Cleveland Dexter Biscette of Hospital Road, Dennery, according to a Police Press Office release.

Police said Biscette was travelling in a northerly direction along the Bexon/Odsan Highway when he came into contact with the pedestrian.

Mann was pronounced dead on arrival at Victoria Hospital.

    • This area and the whole of Bexon have been this way since I can remember. It used to be a daily occurance before. Any loss of life is terrible.

  2. My condolences to the family... this is very sad. One thing a little odd though - why was this lady out at that time of the morning?? And it's not an indiscreet question - it's a concern expressed for our women being out alone at that time seemingly without any kind of protection or regard for their safety.
