  1. off course we all know that this is gang related, arthur was no innocent person and indeed he was a trouble maker, guns were his best friend and surprisingly he took that long to be taken down. Now who control the north area in st.lucia? Those who live in st.lucia knows, i think its gang related. i wouldn't say condolences to him or his family cause he couldn't be tamed. Just sad for the country and how its making its name internationally as a crime country..

  2. Are we now so desensitized with all the murders in our beautiful island home, that it makes this headline appropriate?

We know nothing about this incident or the deceased, but like most of us I am sure he has people who care for him and this headline takes away from the tragedy!

    • Admin: Ok what's tasteless and sensationalism about the headline? Explain. Am willing to learn. You can't criticise and have no basis, you must have one.

      • You're supposed to be a source of reputable journalism. Using a headline such as this comes off as amateurish and attention seeking. Also, it does seem crass given the nature of the situation.

I understand this is a learning process for you, but headlines such as this really should not be used. Your role is to inform, state the facts as succinctly and objectively as possible.

        • NICK: According to you, the headline comes off as "attention seeking", so what's the purpose of a headline? It seems only you alone went to journalism school, so tell our 25,000 readers what is the purpose of a headline. Furthermore, the headline in no way distracts from the story. I have seen worst headlines. If our publication chooses to use sensational headlines, that's our policy. The top-selling newspapers in the Uk and US use "amateurish headlines", the local papers use headlines like those - and worst - so what straws are you trying to grasp at? Furthermore, the person who wrote this is not our trainee reporter on staff, so stop picking on her. This was written by yours truly, and if you want to know more about my experience call me at 725-6883 so I can give you my resume. Otherwise stop hiding behind the Internet is spewing nonsense.

A lot of people like to condone worst rubbish in the local papers and in the broadcast media, then log on to SNO and become saints. Please stop it. For years, readers have been fed garbage.

You state our role is to state the facts, so isn't that stated in the story? The facts? oh boy!

          • I see nothing wrong with your headline, your Journalism in my opinion is way better than what i have been seeing for years, sno is the only news service that provides updates on whats going on with a story which is amazing, and the only service who post fresh news everyday the very moment they happen what more could i want, i have been following this site for lil while now and i think alot of our local journalist should go back to school, because clearly when i read an article on SNO i feel like i am right there on the seen, and i respect the fact that you go all out to give accurate information. Keep up the good work
