UPDATE: Another body discovered; third in one week

Police  have confirmed that a body was discovered in Dennery this morning.

Police Press Officer Aniel Innocent said police officers are still processing the scene and more information will be disseminated later.

This is the third body to be discovered in under one week.

Yesterday, Thursday, Jan. 25, 2013, the body of an elderly man was discovered in bushes in Marigot by a man who was on his way to his garden. Police have not released any information on that matter.

On the evening of Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, a decomposing body was discovered  in a wooded area near the Quilesse Forest Reserve located in Micoud by a hunting party in search of wild pigs.

The decomposing body was discovered lying near a river bank. The deceased, who is yet to be identified, carried his hair in dreadlocks.

To date, the police said they are not in receipt of a missing person report fitting the description of the body discovered, and that the deceased’S fingerprints will be processed through the Automated Identification Fingerprint System for a possible match.

Police said a post mortem will be conducted on the body pending the identification of the individual.
