At least two persons sustained injuries after a passenger bus overturned in the vicinity of Morgan Bay Resort on the Choc Public Road Thursday night.

St. Lucia News Online (SNO) arrived on the scene moments after the accident and observed a young woman laying motionless, but conscious, in the bushes.

Two eyewitnesses told SNO that, at about minutes after 11 p.m., the red passenger bus (HD7944), which was heading to Castries, attempted to overtake a coaster bus, heading in the same direction, when it spun out of control and overturned before it rolled to a standstill on its wheels.

Eyewitnesses say about six people were on the passenger bus. The Coaster bus, which was untouched in the accident, left the scene shortly after.

It took the ambulance about 10-15 minutes to reach the scene. Initially, the SNO news team  tried calling 911 for help, but the number rang out without an answer for about 10 minutes.

  2. I must say that I have notice that some of our bus drivers fail to realise that they're providing a service where ppl trust them with their lives.Too often the careless drivers out of the midst forget that its a road and not a run-way..serious road safety laws have to be enforced...

Overtaking is a Lucian thing no one seems to care, they laugh they tell the idiot driver by gas ga so, the music is so loud and disgusting you cannot hear yourself they on their cell talking over the music oh my God. Everytime I'm home on vacation that's my experience my husband will yell at the driver to put us down pay him and we wait for another van and this always happen on the Gros-Islet highway because our hotel is up the road.My brothers and sisters I beg you PLEASE obey the law of the land for the lives you save might be your own.
