The squad comprises four boxers previously named to represent St. Lucia at the 2014 Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow Scotland from July 27 to August 3, 2014.
The four are 64kg Lightwelterweight Lyndel “the Russian” Marcellin, 69kg Welterweight Ron Bastien, 75kg Middleweight Arthur Langelier and 91kg Heavyweight England-based Ryan Charles.
The squad will continue preparing for some regional events, among them a card in Guyana scheduled for May 31, a road show scheduled for the market steps on June 1, and an invitational boxing card in Martinique on June 14.
The boxers on the squad will intensify their preparations as St. Lucia gets set to defend the Creole Boxing Championship title it won in 2013. The Creole Boxing Championships this year will be held in Guadeloupe from July 9 to 12.
Also in July St. Lucia’s boxers are scheduled to participate in the second CAC Boxing qualifiers for the 2014 CAC Games to be held in Vera Cruz Mexico in November.
The St. Lucian boxers are also set to defend their OECS boxing title later this year as well; a date for the OECS Boxing championships to be held here will be announced soon. The local boxers earmarked for the Commonwealth Games will be involved in a 12-day camp just ahead of their departure for the games.

The boxers are under the watchful eyes of coaches Conrad Fredericks and Jorge Gonzales Dominguez and team manager Brian McDonald.
