This year, BOSL signed on as bronze sponsor of the King & Queen of the Bands Competition and the highly-anticipated Panorama competition.
Speaking on this year’s Panorama competition, Senior Manager – Marketing & Corporate Communications, Maria Fowell, said the bank was proud to support the island’s premier pan festival and commended the National Steelbands Association for their commitment to the development of the art form.
BOSL also lent support to the recently concluded Junior Carnival parade and continued in its commitment to RC Jam 2014 – providing bank accounts for the winners – as part of the institution’s overall efforts to encourage young people to adopt good saving habits early on in life.
Bank of Saint Lucia’s participation in carnival 2014 extended beyond sponsorship as this year the bank fielded a participant in the exciting and highly-competitive Inter-Commercial House Calypso Competition dubbed the “Greatest Carnival Staff Party”. This year the Bank’s representative Garner Raymond was the second runner up with his thought-provoking and hard-hitting song “Will Power”.
The competition took place at the National Cultural Centre and BOSL staff turned out in large numbers to support their own and the other participants.
As with previous years, BOSL’s sponsorship of the island’s premier cultural showpiece focuses on two critical aspects of carnival – the creative dimension of the festival, and youth development for the future of St. Lucia Carnival.
Bank of Saint Lucia Limited, the largest subsidiary of the East Caribbean Financial Holding Company (ECFH), is proud to have made another sterling contribution to the arts and culture with the support of the 2014 Carnival celebrations dubbed Lucian Mas.
