Police have still not identified the body of a decomposing man which was discovered on the Marisule beach in Gros Islet on Tuesday, April 15 about 2 p.m.

Police told reporters that the deceased, believed to be the body of a young male, was found covered by sheet by a female passerby.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), in a statement released today, that it is appealing to persons who may be missing a family member or a friend to contact the Gros Islet Police Station.

Persons with information that can assist with this investigation should also contact the Gros Islet Police Station at telephone number 456-3830.

This is the second body being discovered on the island in under a week. On April 9, 2014, Jamie Innocent’s body was discovered with his head covered in a sack and his feet bound in bushes on a hill in Pigeon Point, Gros Islet.

Post mortem results revealed that he died as a result of hemorrhagic shock secondary to blunt force trauma.
