PRESS RELEASE – The Saint Lucia Tourist Board, as part of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival 2014, will highlight Spoken Word again as an integral part of the Arts component of the Festival.

For the second year, the event titled ‘BLU SESSION – Word in Altered Scale’ is being hosted by HeadPhunk.

For the past three years the HeadPhunk movement has hosted an event synonymous with Spoken Word and Improv held at Saamans Park every last Thursday of the month.  The event offers a stage where persons, especially the young and upcoming artistes, can express themselves and get exposure to the wider public.

BLU SESSION, which is being held at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 5 in The Garden at Gaiety on Rodney Bay, is going to do just that.  The audience will encounter an eclectic mix of performance poetry with music and original songs, offering entertainment with a difference, where there will be a fusion of Spoken Word, Instrumental music and song.

The BLU SESSION lineup of artistes consists of seasoned poets and musicians as well as young and upcoming individuals.  Some of the featured artistes on the night will be Kendel Hippolyte, Glen Charlery, Black Crayon, Drii Notes, Gajanan, Fourtress, Bleeding Strings, ASAP and Steel Rock.

The public is encouraged to come out to support and discover a new generation of artiste showcasing their creativity in diverse genres and topics. This lends for a very interesting and entertaining evening.

Tickets are only EC$20 and are on sale at Sunshine Book Shop at the JQ Mall in Rodney Bay.

Good vibe. I hope the audience consisted of major players in the game to get those artists the help they need in getting opportunities like getting signed.
