(PRESS RELEASE) — For years the Blanchard Combined School has been one of the schools on the island unfortunately suffering from lack of proper teaching equipment and unfavourable working conditions. However despite the situation the school has strived to produce the best quality learning experience to its students.
A past student Sharine Joseph has made it her duty to help the situation at the school by assisting with donations.
Her first donation to the school was a printer funded by her former employer, Supreme Engineering Services. She then partnered with Crayons 4 Classrooms, a non-profit organization whose aim is to empower students from marginalized communities with the supplies they need to succeed at school. They have previously assisted schools including Morne Du Don Combined and are dedicated to continue providing aid to schools.
On Thursday, September 6th 2018, a presentation of school supplies was made to the Blanchard Combined School.
Through the sponsorship of Bank of St Lucia and Massy stores, Crayons 4 Classrooms was able to secure a number of supplies to benefit the school, including notebooks, bags and stationery for students and teachers.
Sharine expressed her gratitude towards all who have helped in assisting the Blanchard Combined School.
“It is a huge honor to be able to give back to my past school especially given the circumstances. I owe a huge thank you to the sponsors Bank of St Lucia and Massy Stores and of course Crayons 4 Classrooms who put everything together and went the extra mile to ensure that this became a reality. The Blanchard Combined school is also very thankful and humbled by the gesture and will use the supplies for the betterment of the school and its students,” she said.
