

It was a bitter pill to swallow for the Piton Boyz who recorded two successive victories over Curacao (5-1) and St. Vincent & the Grenadines (2-1) and only needed a draw to top the group, or anything less than a 0-3 scorline, to advance to the next round.
However, advancing to the next round were the Golden Jaguars from Guyana, along with St. Vincent & the Grenadines, who defeated Curacao 4-0 in the earlier game Thursday night.
St. Lucian fans left the Beausejour obviously disappointed with some asking why the St. Lucian officials changed the team that recorded two successive victories on Sunday and Tuesday.
Others blamed the wet conditions for the home team’s below par performance.
