The 31st Fort De France international half marathon came off earlier this month, coinciding with the French Half Marathon Championship.
Two Saint Lucians – Michael ‘Mega’ Biscette and Neville Dupre – competed in the team championship race, representing Club Colonial.
When the dust settled, Yosi Goasdue won the main half marathon in 1:09:34. But in the team race, Club Colonial and its imports had wom once again.
Over 600 athletes from clubs in Martinique and mainland France contested the 13.1-mile course. Biscette finished second and Dupre fourth.
Jacques Edouard Thierry won the team race in 1:15:03, with Biscette 1:17:45, Colonial’s Steve Bosmon 1:18:53, and Dupre 1:30:38.
Biscette, a member of Road Busters in Saint Lucia, had run much faster in Trinidad and Tobago a month earlier, clocking 1:13:53 for fifth.
Both Biscette and Dupre have competed in a number of road races around the Caribbean, taking on events in Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Martinique.
