PRESS RELEASE – On Sunday, June 15, United Pac posted on Facebook, saying “UNITEDPAC has been reliably informed that carnival bands have boycott the opening of carnival held Sunday, June 15 with the exception of Reds International, a Labour Party-funded carnival band”.
Given the character of the individual at the helm of the United Workers Party, the St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) is not surprised that United PAC, a UWP-affiliated group, has joined the fray of providing contradictory, inaccurate and spiteful information with the sole purpose of misleading the public.
The SLP wishes to categorically deny any sort of sponsorship or funding with Red Unlimited carnival band. This is a blatant lie which is not surprising as even a court of law deemed the leader of their party as one who is incompatible with the truth.
The SLP urges United PAC to desist from following its leader of speaking untruths and to instead engage in more ethical behaviour.
The SLP calls on the management of Red Unlimited carnival band to clear the air on the lies presented in the UWP base group to the public.
